Don’t be willfully ignorant.

Willful ignorance is not an admirable leadership trait.

It’s okay to admit you were wrong.

Does it wound your ego?
Perhaps.

Does changing your position make you appear weak?
Not to reasonable people.

Can it be embarrassing?
Sure, but you’ll get over it.

What is humiliating and potentially leads to malfeasance is knowing you’re wrong yet still denying any sliver of truth to breach your ideology because you have to protect your ego, pride, or machismo.

Childish, lousy leader behavior.
Learn to grow up and grow out.
